Areas of Interest
Liquid state theory is largely based on distribution and time-correlation functions for equilibrium and transport properties, respectively. The statistical mechanical task being pursued in the current research of Dr. Lado is to obtain tractable equations for such functions in both the classical and quantum mechanical regimes, so that from a knowledge of the interparticle potential the macroscopic properties of the liquid may be determined. The solution of such equations usually requires the use of numerical techniques.
