3rd Annual Spring Meeting

University of North Carolina - Greensboro

March 21, 1998

1, Roll Call: Hubisz, Patty, Wetli, Mamola, McAlexander, Clark, McMurray, plus 17 members with more dropping in as the meeting progressed.

2. Minutes - Fall 1997 Meeting: It was moved by Grahn and seconded by Mamola that the minutes be accepted as distributed. Motion passed unanimously.

3. Treasurer's Report (John Hubisz): With the usual reminder that funds are very fluid just prior to a meeting it was reported that we have a balance of $2640 in an interest-bearing checking account.

4. Section Representative Report (Karl Mamola): A report on the AAPT council activity, reduced rate for section members not yet national AAPT members, early registration date for the Summer Meeting is 5/25/98, the rise in registration fee is a necessary fact of life as a result of increased costs to the association, electronic information costs are up, and members are strongly encouraged to log-on to the "psrc" web site.

7. New Business

1. Election (TYC Representative and Vice-President): Aaron McAlexander was elected Two-Year College Representative and Chuck Bennett was elected Vice-President.

2. Drawing for prizes: Prizes from various vendors were drawn from tickets distributed to attendees. Other vendors contributed to the coffee and snacks that were made available during the meeting. See the list of vendors on the program and remember to thank them and stay familiar with their products.

3. Other business: An announcement from John Kolena was read.

8. Adjourn: Moved by Bo wessell we adjourned at 1400.
